to bo a Public Warehouse, in Hamburg, lor
tho STORAGE of COTTON and TOBAC
CO. A Tobacco inspection to bo kept
therein. This Warehouse, for convenience
and safety from fire, if not superior, is inferior
to nono in this part of the country. It is 5300
foot in length and 50 feet in width, witli a
plunk floor—situated iu tho centre of the
Town, on tho bank of tho Savaunuli River,
•and within 10Q feet of tho stream. Tho
other throe sides are bounded by streets, ono
of 100 feet, one of 100 feet and one of 60 feet.
Two plutfonnswill extend from the Ware
house to the river; bo that Cotton will be
put on Boats without touching the ground,
* except when the river is very low.

Liberal advances on produce placed under

town of Hamburg—all imprisonments, per
sonal violence and persecutions, and ull tho
farcical Sheriff’s Sales of Hamburg, to the
contrary notwithstanding.
If John Williamson nndliis colleagues want
u town, let them do ns I have done—build one.
I will however, accept of ull their spare
change to.hclp along the accomplishment of
that great undertaking; but the Town they
shall never have. 1 built, it for myself; not
for them. And if I had the abilities and per
severance to build a Town, they will find that
‘I have ubilitios and perseverance enough
to take enre of it.

Fpirited disposition prevails to give as hereto
fore, at least as much, if hot more, for
COTTON, than in any other city or town
in the up country.
As for money, none will he countenanced
unless it is founded on a solid basis; and
should any other be taken in the market, or
should any monied institution in which the
market und country are interested, go be
yond what might bo considered just und pru
dent, immediate notice of it will be given,
without fear or favor.

T HE Subscriber having added the Manu
facture ofmovcabloTypoto his Storeo-
type establishment, rcspoctftilly solicits a
shurooftho patronage of the Printers of
Pennsylvania and the adjacent States.
Having a practical knowledge of printing,
and ulso having been longer practically en
gaged in tlio business of Stereotyping than
any other person in tho United States, he
hopes to ho able from.such experience, to
give satisfaction to those who inuy favor him
withthoir orders. From uu intimate ac
quaintance for a number of years, (nearly
eight,) with the business of typo folding, ho
hopes to he able to produce type equal to
any offered, to tho Printers of thu United
States.
His prices though low, will of course he
the same as others in the sumo business. Nor
will ho attempt to violato truth, or insult com
mon sense, by pretending to any “increased
facilities in tho manufacture," (for there are
no other “facilities” at present in this city,
than there were 12 years ago, when typo were
from 40 to 50 per cent higher than at pre
sent,) nor have the “mutcrinls used in making
printing types been so greatly reduced,” as to
near any proportion to the reduction in the
prices of lypo. But thu reduction 1ms been
“induced” by competition, mid mi overhear
ing disposition in some of those founders who
Live grown rich on the heretofore profits on
type.
All sizes of typo, plain and ornamental, for

tity as to supply uny order at short notice.—
In the choice of Book letter, pains have been
taken to select such faces as are generally ap
proved for symmetry, neatness and durubili-

lication, entirely devoted to light and
miscellaneous literature, would meet with a.
ready and liberal pntiunngo in this commu
nity. Wo now make the experiment.—
Our editors have hitherto confined their: at
tention very Holtichly to the wants and re-
quir-’meutsof iheir own sex, leaving unnoti
ced that liner portion of creation to tho n-
musoment and instruction of winch, as well
as that of our own order, our labors shall in
future ho equally directed. To them, there
fore, wo look for patronage und encourage

ture, original and selected, which is calcula
ted tor tho occasional amusement and gratifi
cation oftho public. As a weekly melange.
