proved itself the most valuablo remedy ever

Baltimore County, Feb. l lth 1S20.
(icnllemcn—1 feel it my duty to acknowl
edge t.ho great benefit j havu derived from the
use qt Do La Monterat’s Columbian Vegetn-
hlo Specific. I do nut like to speak of the
Medicine in the exalted terms in which 1 esti
mate it, I will, therefore, as briefly as possible,
give a history of my own situation, with the
effects produced by this valuable medicine.—
I have been, for the last fl\o or six years, la-
boring under a pulmonary Consumption, pro
nounced to bu such hv the attendin'*- physi
cian, during which fime I have consulted
tunny physicians, taken much medicine, but
all to but little purpose. Tho 12th of March,
1828,1 puked blood lor the first lime, uml con
tinued so to do for several duys iu succession,
and on thu Llth of the same mouth was eon-
imod to my bed, whurc I lay for two months
until I was reduced to such a state of debility,
that my lricmls began to despair of my recove
ry. 1 lmd made usu also of ull thu popular
remedies without benefit, mid having acciden
tally heard of this Specific, I determined to
give it a trial, anticipating from the use of it,
no hotter result than had attended the uso of
all the remedies I had taken; hut in tins I was
happily disappointed. At. my very lowest
state I commenced tho use of this Specific.
l took the first dose at night in u little herb ten,
sweetened, which threw mo in a gentle per
spiration mid procured for mo a good night’s
rest. I continued to take the medicine ns di
rected, mid in about live days my cough was
completely stopped and have not. had any re
turn since. lam now perfectly satisfied of
tho superior quulity of this Specific over every
other medicine oftered for tho cure of the
above disease. You are at liberty to use this
letter in any way you may think tiroiier.—
