B LUE LICK WATER.—The charao
ter of the water from this well known spring
ia too well established to need commendation. Wo
append for the curious and scientific an analysis
as made by art able chemist.
1 sulphurated hydrogen, 2 carbonic acid, 3 mu
riate or soda, 4 muriate of magneaie, 5 muriate of
lime, 6 sulphate of lime, 7 sulphate of soda. 8 sul-
ihato magnesia, 9 carbonate of lime, and proba-

In ita action upon the system it is porgative,
diuretic, diaphoretio, and alteratisc, possessed of
greeter variety of substances and in more abun
dance, it may be ebnsidared as standing nt the head
of all Saline sulphurous waters. In comparison
it is identical with the Harrowgate springs of Eng
land, contaiping every aetive Ingredient found in
those waters, if the planters of this neighborhood,
were once 40 jet in ihe habit of using the Blue
Lick Water, tiny would not do without it fur any
consideration. It is put op in well soaked barrels
and will keep for any length oftimtinany climate.
