Into four Dispensary Districts, to provide for tho elec
tion of a Dispensary Physician for each of said districts,
and to declare the duties and fix tbe compensation of each
Dispensary Physician-
Sec, 1. Bo it ordained by tho Mayor and Aldermen of tho
city of Savannah and hamlets thereof In Council assembled,
and It is hereby ordained by the authority of the sume.
That from and after the passage of this ordinance, the city
be. and it is hereby divided into four Dispensary Districts,
the first to embrace all that part of tho city bounded on
the north by the Savannnh river, on the east by Jefferson- -
street continued to tho river, on thesoutii by South Broad-
street and William-street, and on tho west by the corporate
limits ; the second to embrace all that part of tlio city
bounded 011 tho north by the river, on the east by tlio cor
porate limit*, on the south by South Broad-street continu
ed to tho corporate limits, and on tho west by Jefferson st,
continued to the river ; the third to embrace' all tiiat part
of tho city bounded on the north by William street nnd
South Bread-street, on tlio cast by Jelferson-street continu
ed to the corporate limits, on the soutli by the cor|>orate
limits, and on the west by the corporate limits; and the

TTiat there shall be elected at tho first regular meeting of
Council after tho passage of this ordinance, and annually
thereafter on tho first regular meeting in Janunry. a Dis
pensary Physician for each of said district*, whose duty it
shall be to furnish the destitute sick within the limits of
ills district with necessary medicines, to giro them medical
and surgical advice and attention, to visit them at their
places of abode when necessary, on every Monday and
Thursday, to attend in person, or by competent substitute,
between the hours 0! 10 o'clock, A. M and 1 P M., for con
sultation with ont-door parties, and to keep always a com
petent supply of vaccine mntter for vaccinating the poor
nnd to be furnished physicians, the Ut»or to pny a reasona
ble nnd proper price therefor, and to fill all prescriptions
signed by any member tithe Georgia Medical Faculty,
provided each of mck sprescriplions shall set forth the
name of the patient and embrace a certificate that the pa
tient reside* within the district of the Dispensary Physician
to whom It Is addressed.
See. 3. Bo It further ordained by the authority aforesaid.
That the said dispensary Physicians shall bo considered,
held and taken as officers of the city, and shall be liable to
tho samo penalties for non-performance or neglect of any
of their official duties as aro now prescribed in the case of
oilier city officers.
Sec. 4. Bo it further ordained by the authority aforesaid,
That such Dispensary Physician before entering on the du
ties of his ofllce shall take the oath proscribed for city otfi.
cors. and execute a bond with two securities lu the penal sum
of nneth<iu<and dollars.conditional for the faithful perform
ance of his office. Each Dispensary Physician slum receive
in full compensation for menip.lnes and services, a salary of
dollars per annum, payable monthly.

That all ordinances and parts of ordinances militatlug a-

tled an ** Ordinance defining what shall bis considered
puclic nuisances, and for the prevention, .punishment *nd
removal of the same.”
Sec. 10. Be It further erdalned, That It shall not bo law-
fuller any cow. steer, heifer or calf to bo or go at large
within the limits of the city, from the setting of the sun to
the rising of the same ; and the owners of such cattle so
found at large, shall forfait and pay a *ura not exceeding
five dollars for each and every time any such animal shall
be found at large ; and It shall be tbe duty of tb* City Mar-
ehal and City Constables to take such cattle so found at
burg*, contrary to the provisions of this ordinance, and lm-
S ound them until the said fine and all costs are paid, and If
io animal be not claimed within five days, it snail be the
duty of the City Marshal to sell the same at the pound, first
giving at least five days’ notice in one of the public garottes
of the city of the description of the animal and the time
snd place of sale, and he ahall pay the ne't proceeds, after
deducting the fine and coats. Into the City Treasury, subject
to the order of Council, who may and ahall order the same
to be paid to the owner of auch animal when required
