It Is gratifying to tho proprietor ot these medicines
to bo able to state that It is now nearly threo Years
since they wero flrst introduced, during which Uue
they have bceu extensively used iu various parts of
tho United States, uud have glvon to patient and
practitioner the highest degree of satisfaction iutho
various coses in which they havo beeu employed ;
whether in town, country, hospital or private prac
tice, they have invariably given tho most decided
and unequivocal satisfaction, and produced the most
salutary and beneficial offects. Numerous letters
have boon received fr-om tlio most distinguished
physicians in the country, and from the nrufewors
of several medical colleges, recommending in the
highest terms the value of thesd medicines, and
their superiority ovor ull other preparations for
such complaints as tho proprietor recommends.
Numerous preparations of Sarsaparilla and or Buchu
and various modes of preparing them have been
given, all of which of courso will dilfer according to
tho mode of preparation which each individual »nay
adopt.
These modicincs require considerable cure in ih
preparation and tho employment of different men
struaiu successive operation to take up tho extrac
tive matters, and, in consoquonco, are most fre
quently Improperly made, and not unfrequeutly
much Impaired, if not rendered totally inert, by the
injudicious and unskilful management or those unac
quainted with pharmaceutical preparations. ‘s
therefore of tho highest consideration and import

should bo standard preparations of uniform strength
and ]>ossossiug tbo most advantages. To effect this
aud obviate the evil alluded to, I havo made a num
ber of experiments to ascertain tho most effectual

form for their exhibition. The experiments havo
resulted most favorably, and it is with much pleas
