the said Safo sustained no injury whatever from the
Intense heat to which It had been exposed. Oft open

aud In thesomo ordor and condition as when placed
there, excopta slight discoloration to tho projecting
onds ora fow papers, and the backs of one or two e
the books, caused by the steam generated In the
8afo, while at Its greatest heat
The Bare and contents, as It came from the ruins,
may still he seou, in the possession ol' Mr. Thomas,
at tne Gas Works. A large assortment or these cele

for hoarding voxels and for giving a certificate
for hoalth or permit to come to the city and dis
charge tholr loads, and for other purposes :
Whereas, from tho increased commerce of the
purt of Savaunati the duties of tho Health Officer
has greatly mereased, amt the salary bos not boon
creased duriug tho last thirty years:
8ee. 1. Bo it ordained by tho Mayer and Alder-
meu of the City of Suvanuah and tho Hamlets there
in iu Couucil as embied, aud it is horoby ordained
by tho authority of the enmo, That from and after
tho passage or this Ordinance tho salary of the
Health Officer bo at the rate of Uvo hundred dol
lars.

dained by authority of the same, That the Tees of

For boardtng any vessel lying ut the quarantine
ground, ut Fort Jackson, two cents a ton up to 500
tons, beyond which no additional fee shall be
charged. In case of a visit at uight tho foes charged
shall oc doublo the proceed ug; aud all expenses
incurred for boardlsxany vessel shall bo paid by
tbo Health Officer, except that tho city will furnish
a quarantine boai.
For visiting aud inspecting a vestcl which bus
bccu subjected to quarantine, and giving a permit
to come up to tbo city, live dollars.
8eo. 3. Bo it fnrthor ordalucd by tho authority
aforcsuld. That in case it shall bo doomed necessary
by tho Hoalth Officor to send a patient to tho Fe*-l
Houso from tbo vessel, it shall bo dono by the
vessel’s boat, or at tho expense of the owner, mas
ter or consignee or such vessel, under a penally, in
caso of failure or refusal, or not exceeding oue nun-
dred dollars, to be collected in the usual manner ai
