Benjamin Barons, Esq. Deputy Pollmafter-General of
the southern diftnft of America, has appointed Mr. Peter
Timothy printer in Charleftown to be his fccretary.
Lad week advice was received from Augusta, that three
white men, two of them named Payne, and the other Hoggs
were killed by the Creeks, on whose lands it’s said they
were hunting. We also hear that an officer was lately killed
near Panfacola by two of these Indians, who were put to
death by their father immediately on their arrival in their
own country.
Thursday last failed the fchdoner Polly, John Johnson
mailer, which put in here in distress the 20th September last,
from Jamaica bound to Philadelphia.

THE fubferiber intending soon to move his family into
the country, begs the favour of all those Indebted to
him, either by bond, note, book debt, or otherwise, to
fettle the fame by the firftof January next, as it will enable
him to fettle with his creditors before he leaves town.—The
part of the house where he now lives is to be let, which is
convenient for llore or (hop keeping. —He has to fell, a traft
of 400 acres of land, about eight miles from town, and two
m'les from Savannah river; part of it is fit for rice, and the
rest for pine lumber. Whoever is inclinable to purchase may
foe the plot and grant by applying in Savannah to
