March 15. La ft night died Patrick Carr, of the wounds he received
in tnc tragical affair on Monday rhe sth inst.
The two young lads, viz. Monk and Cla.k, mentioned to be mortal
ly wounded, are Hill living, hut in a dangerous condition.
This niorning the Great and General Court or Aflemblv of the Province
of Maflachufetts-Bay met at Cambridge, when his Honour the Lieute
nant-Governor was plea led to make th* lollowing SPEECH to both
Idonfes, viz.

I INTENDED to have met the Court en the 10th of (anuary, at Boston,
being the time and place to which it Hood prorogued, when the Go
vernor left the province; Bur, by the two fall packets from England, I
have received .u’ h inltruilions as made it neesflfary for me further to pro
rogue it to this time and place ; and, I am informed, that before thefef
fion is ended, I may expedt to have something, in special command from
his Maj-lly, relative toihe ftaie and circumlhnces of the province, to l*y
belorc you. In the mean time, 1 shall be ready to join with you ih such

Murch 19. Eriday Jaft failed for London the Captains Robson and Mil
ler; in the former of whom went paflengers John Kobinfon, Esq. one of
the commillioners of the Board of Customs.
Since our last the remainder of the 29th, and the whole of the re
giment, arc gone to the barracks at Castle William.
Upon representation made by the High Sheriff to the inhabitants afTem
blcd at Faneuil-Hall, that there was a necessity of immediate raeafures be
ing taken for he better security of the prifoner*—The town impowered
him to make the proposed additions to tbi vvatch; and agreed if the ses
sions a: their next meeting, upon his application, ( Ihould decline defray
ing thischa ge, they would reimb*rf him, Forty -fevaa persons are now
in goal, all of whom, except ieven, arc criminals ; and fifteen of them
charged with capital offences. ,
Char Ilfs Pun, South Carolina, April 6. Mr Robinson, one of the Com
miflioners otthe Cufloms at Burton, is gone for England ; and they writa
from Nov York, that the Board and its Dependencies will soon be en
tirely removed. We likewilc hear from New-Yurk, that the CommiiS
oneri., Sec. were gone on b>ard the Rofeinan of war in Boßon harbour;
and that the Senegal (loop was ordered thither from Rhode-Ifland. .
Mr. MacDougal, the Wilkes of New York, is soon t be tried for the
Libel for which he is now in goal, and the celebrated Pcnnfylvania Far
mer is to plead his caufc in court.
We hope very soon to congratulate the publick on the repeal of the
arts of Parliament so much complained of.
The Dtnbia, Bare, from this port for Liverpool, was entirely loft near
Iloylake, the crew and part of he r cargo saved.
Baffcterrc, in St'. Chnjhpher, March 21. Sunday arrived here from
London, in the Blip Reward, Capt. Hcndcrfon, the Honourable John
Puicell, Lieutenant Governor of the island of Tortola. The Reward has
only been 24 days from the Lizard.
General Melville’s baggage had been aboard the Reward, but wastakdn
out again 10 days before Ihe failed; so that the report of that Gentle
man’s being on his paftage to Granada is premature, he being in London
when the Reward came away.
The illand of Dominica is made a separate government from Granada,
St. Vincent, and Tebago.
