CIMi| Exercises of the Hsfsie
Title Institute, July U, 3d, 4th
Md 5th.
Editor qf The Sun: The exercises of the
floginirilk Institute began with the
Commencement Sermon. Text from the
Acts, x, 88: “Jesns went about to do
good."
The Rev. Mr. Hornaday handled this
text in the most chaste and elaborated
style, and held by it bis large congrega
tion completely spell-bound. The ser
mon vas received with such undivided
attention and eagerness that a request for
a copy of the Mime for publication wm
made by the young gentlemen of the
achool.

MONDAY NIGHT—EXHIBITION.
Original compositions, speeches, inter
spersed with songs and instrumental
music.
The farce— “Tlio Day After the Wed
ding”— was creditably performed, and we
are free to say that all the impersona
tions were rendered with unsurpassed no
curacy; the performers well understood
the nature of thnir respective characters
or parts. Of Lady Elizabeth we can only
say, “Well done;” for we havo witnessed
the same play when performed by pro
fessionals of repnhition, and feel thor
oughly convinced that it was not ren
dered any better.
The exercises in calisthenics, by the
young ladies, received neat applause,
uud were executed in the most precise
style,
TUESDAY MOUSING— EXAMINATION.
Classes in Orsar, algebra, English
grammar, Roman history, arithmetic and
spelling.
The examination of the classes^ and
the ready responses of the pupils, only
goes to prove a thorough, well-diraetod
training, reflecting just credit on the able
faculty of the destitute. Where nil do so
well—where everything passes off with
such ease and promptness as tlio cat 3 is
here—it is rather out o! the question to
rommond single individuals, but all
should share equally in the wull deserved
praises of the appreciative and iutclli
gent audience.
Good inauy visitors from abroad.
