PnrsTON, Aug. 14.—An explosion of fire damp occurred to-day in the Cagle Bliaft, worked by Adlo Thompkina.— Twenty men were working in the rear of the gangway at the timo of the explosion, which tore away the timbers supporting the roof, causing it to fall in, leaving the men imprisoned behind the rock wiUi no means of escape until the debris shall havo been cleared away. Benj. Davis, who was working outside the gangway, was instantly killed by the explosion.— The men imprisoned are most likely dead, or will be bofore they can be reached.— It will tako a day or two to get their bodies out.
