RECORD FOB THE PAST 24 HOURS.
The area of low barometer, which was
Saturday evening in Minnesota, is now
between Lakes Ontario and Huron.
Threatening weather has beep reported
in its path, but the very dry, smoky at-
mosphere lias probably allowed a belt of
very slight ram. The high barometer
moved somewhat northeast and now ex
tends from Maryland to Connecticut
Dry, hazy and smoky weather, with very
slight cloudiness extends from Missouri
toFlorido, from Illinois to New Jersey,
and over the intermediate region. Clear
weather, with north winds, lias prevailed
in the Gulf States, and the cyclone has
moved northeast beyond the cognizapc*
o( oar stations, although an area of low
barometer continues off the South Atlan
tic coast, and northeast winds oontimie
from South Carolina to Virginia.
Easterly winds, increasing to brisk, are
probable to-night from Cape Hatteras to
Cape Cod, with cloudy and threatening
weather from New Jersey to Massachu
setts and a few local storms between the
coast and the lower lakes. Brisk wester
ly winds will probably prevail for a short
time on L*k e fine. No important change
is probable for Monday in the Southern
and Gulf States. General cloudiness is
probable for the upper lakes.
