SAVAJUTAn, September 4.—The htate- ment made in the New Turk Herald to- dkj, to the effect that the yellow Fever pxikU in this city, has called forth the following from Mayor Screven. * 4 1 learn that the New York Herald of Uua morning reporta the existence of the yellow fever in Savannah. The state ment is wholly without foundation. There is not now, nor has there been, any yellow fever in Savannah the present Clear and hary weather will probably continue from New England to Sotth Carolina with southerly winds. Falling barometer, with southwesterly winds aud inert-used cloudiness, from the Im south westward to the Ohio and Mumouri rivers. Contmoed clond and local rains on the Gulf coast. year, and the city u freer of disease of kind and healthier than any previous Jear.
