Qarner k Co. They say the ac counts received from friends in Alabama and Mississippi are of the moat unfavor able character. The goneral complaint is of damage to the growing crop by worms and rust, and it is variously esti mated at from one-luilf to two-thirds of ast year's crop. WISCONSIN Milwaukee, September 8.—The Cold SDriags Track, over which Goldsmith Mold made saoh wonderful time, measur ed 69 feet more than a mile, Louisville, September 8.—A collision occurred at 11 o'clock last night between two passenger trains on tlio Louisville and Nashville Railroad, at Randolph Sta tion , about eight miles from this city. One person was killed, and two others fatally injured. Their names aro Wm. Buchanan, of Ashville, N. C.; I)r. James Thomas, of Rome, Go., aud Mr. Grif fith, of Nashville. The train bound South run into tho rear couch of tho train from Memphis and Nashville, as it was going upon the sido truck. Sar- g eons were promptly summoned by the omnany, and everything done for the comfort of the wounded, of whom tlicro were seven altogether. LATKU. The persons most seriously wounded last night, by the accident on the Louis ville k Nashville Railroad, and who aro now at St Joseph's Infirmary, are R. Brady, of Little Rock, Arkansas; J. O. Griffith, of tho Nashville Union aud American; James Stone, of Washington county, Mississippi, wounded in the head; W. W. Anderson, wounded in the head; Mrs. Cynthia D. Vickers, of Hills boro, Tennessee, and James Welsh, of Louisville. The injuries of these per sons are not regarded as dangerous, and they are doing well. Dr. James Thomas, of Rome, Georgia, and Wm. Philadelphia, September 8.—Kane 'Donnell, & journalist, formerly con nected witb tbe New York Tribune, ie dead. Last week a large private party mado an excursion down tbe Day from Wil mington. The next day tbe whole party suffered from symptom, of poi»on, and a Dumber of respectable families now have one or more members seriously sick. Tbe eeeee have not been alarming, but they seem annoying sml distressing, and one peculiar feature is that after tbe poi soned person seems to have recovered, be is seized again with as much severity as before. One doctor is quid to bp treating po less than forty cases suffering frum tbe unfortunate influences. Alabama and Chattanooga railroad in Tenneaseo. 1HT The only obstacles now to tbe running of the road are the attachments in Dade county, Oa An application for a Re eeirer, similar hi that just decided, will be beard by Judge Parrott, at Trenton, Oa, September 19th, and will undoubt edly be decided ia a similar manner. So trains may be expected to run on the Alubimm end Chattanooga Railroad by September 20th. Tbe greatest delight prevails nnlver- aally at tbe prospect of tbe running of the roud. The verdict of the Coroner's jury ie that Hiss Post oamo to her death from inhuman treatment at the hands of Dr. Perry and Madame Van Buskirk; and further, that Peter K. Post, Sr., Peter K. Post, Jr., and Minerva Poet, in platt ing their daughter and sister in the bauds of known abortionists, are guilty of an unnataml outrage, evincing de praved minds, utterly regardless of nat- arul duty. The Poets were held as wit nesses, aud Dr. Perry end Madame Van Buskirk for the action of tho Qrand Jmy.
