The Greeley delegations had a meet ing early, and invited in the dissatisfied delegation. The room was too small, and they adjourned to the City Hull. Bitter feeling was expressed, but without action. They adjourned to 11 o’clock. It seems that these delegations from New York stand thus: The Fentonites excluded the Conklingites, and admitted the Greeleyites with a vote and a half each, upon which the Greeley ites withdrew, and the pend ing question is upon conferring a full vote upon the Conklingites. The Committee on Permanent Organi zation reported A. D. White for Presi dent Adopted. White renewed his tlmuks. G. Hilton Scribner was renominated for Secretary of Stute by acclamation. Francis 0. Barlow for Attorney Gciierol, and Wm. B. Taylor for State Engineer. There are suits pending in the various United States ^Courts, for $2,850,000, taxes principally against distillers and tobacco manufacturers and their lands men. All will,be pressed at the fall ses sions of the Courts. Washington, Sept. 28.— 1 The British- American Claims Commission has con cluded its permanent organization.— Count Conti is Chairman, and Thos. C. Cox, of the State Department, Secretary. The Commission agreed upon rules and regulations for the conduct of businoss, regulating tho forms of memorials, pre scribing the manner of taking testimony and tho manner of bringing on causes for a final hearing. These preliminaries completed, thero remains nothing for tlio Commission to do till tho cases arc ready, hence it ad journed till the 14th of November. In the meantimo business will be mainly in the hands of the agents of the respective governments, in the preparation of proofs, Ac. So much of the rules as prescribes the form of memorials and tho manner of taking testimony, will be published at once for the information of interested parties. Probabilities. Bising barometer and clear weather will probably continue, on Friday, in the Southern and Gulf States. Partially cloudy and clear weather in the Middle States. Cloudy and clearing weather in New England, with westerly winds. Montgomery, September 28. — The death of General Jas. H. Clanton, Chair man of the Democratic State Executive Committee, creates the profoundest grief among all classes. Every business house, without exception, and many private houses, are draped in mourning. Fes toons of crape stretch, along the streets for more than a mile. The colored peo ple vie with the whites in testifying their affection for (Clanton. All the business houses and engine room are heavily draped. An immense meeting of all parlies at the theatre, passed resolutions and ap pointed committees to receive and eaoort his remains. The Mayor and City Coun cil did likewise. Every heart is bowed down, and every oouutenonco shaded among the people of Alabuma, who loved him. regardless of party. NEW YORK. New York, September 28.—Tho Cor oner’s verdict in tho case of the youug lady who died in the dentist’s chair, ex onerates the Doctor, but urges the dis use of chloroform except in severe cases. A man is said to have died of cholera in Essex street on Wednesday. The Brooklyn polioe report a case of yellow fever in that city. Syracuse, Sept. 28.—Alex. Barkely was nominated for canal commissioner. The Resolutions indorse Grant. The Convention adjourned. The Greeley delegation has reconvened in Wild’s Opera House. Tho speeches are very denunciatory. A Committee of six appointed with power to odd to their number and call State convention, if necessary. Adjourned. The following is an extract from a speech at tho meeting of the Greeley del egation, attendiug to tho convention from which they withdrew: “We have met in this convention tho collectors of poita and internal revenue officers from ail over the State. Wehavo met postmasters in solid phalanx, the district attorneys, the ugistrors in bank ruptcy and tho bankrupts; also, and yet, the peoplo against the office-holders have only been defeated by a n* ijority of 30. Tho money-bags of Wall street w’erc brought here also. Henry Clews had brought money hero to give the office holders a victory over tho people.” UTAH. MARYLAND. Reported Jrreet of Brigham Young—W*h»t Hrlghnm 1YUI Do. Salt Lake, Sept. 28.—There is much excitement here, caused by tho reported arrest of Brigham Young. No arrest has been made, although it is expected. It is stated on good authority that Brigham will meet all the charges brought against him as a law-abiding citizen, and will offer no opposition to arrest. The Commercial Convention. Baltimore, Sept. 28.—The Railroad Committee reported, among other resolu tions, one declaring that the Air-Line Road from Cincinnati to Chattanooga would conduce to the general welfare, especially of the South, and one favoring a rood from the Atlantio to the Pacific, south of the Central Pacific road. A number of morciioata called on the Governor regarding the Galveston quar antine, and Warmoth telegraphed Gov ernor Davis oh follows: ‘-There aro but five cases of yellow fever iu the city, and but three deaths have occurrod in ten days. None of the cases are considered dangerous, anti there is no bar of the sprred of tho disease.
