Richmond, Oct. 2.—A bill of injunc
tion egainst the Virginia and Tennessee
Railroad Company and its President,
Gen. Kfahone, was filed this morning in
the United States Circuit Court, by
James E. Taylor, of Baltimore, a non
resident stockholder, charging the con
solidation of that rood with others to be
illegal and unconstitutional; that the
lAradeo* and officers propose to issue
bonds for eight millions of dollars, scour
ing the same upon the consolidated
roads and their earnings, including the
Virginia and Tennessee, South Side,
Norfolk and Petersburg lioads, under
the name of the Atlantic, Mississippi and
Ohio Railroad Company.
The bill charges that any such use of
■aid roads and property is illegal and de
structive of the rights of the Stockhold
ers as is the carrying out of consolidation
sots in other respects. The bill therefore
pays for an injunction nguinst any act to
carry out such consolidation, and espe
cially the issuing and selling of bonds,
and securing tho same by lien upon
stock.
Judge Rond has passed an order for
hearing the motion for injunction on the
20th instant, which, by practice of the
Courts, as a restraining order until they
have had a hearing.
