offices, his appointment of his own rela
tions to office, the corruption of the San
Domingo job, and bis absence from his
offioial duties. When the resolution
was read, it created such a howl of
indignation among the Grantites in
tho Senate that it seemed as if "all
the fields from heaven that fell had
pealed the banner-cry of hell," or
sometbing Of that aori There is obvi-
oosly a determination on th* part of tome
Senators and Representatives to inter
view Orant with an investigating com
mittee.
