of the kind ever published in the English
Language, sea “RidioalHistorian.
Most oi the readers of Thb Sen will
remember its discussion of the. compara
tive merits of Woroeater'e Dictionary and
the latest edition of Webster's, showing
conclusively that the latter was simply
Radical text-book, and a great outrage,
uot only upon the English language, but
upon tbe name of Dr. Weoster himself,
the publishers of whose learned work
have so deseerzied it zs to give defini
tions to the words “ State,” "Oonstitn
lion,” “Congress," "Federal” Ao., as
agree with the party politiml teachings
the Centralists and Imperialist* of tbe

his “ Elements offHiitory,” some twenty
years ago, and sold tbe copy-right. The

ohaptertoit, bringing the history of the
United States down to the dose of the
war, and this author called the bontheru
people “rebels” and such like.
Dr. Worcetter never wrote nor saw

in this anonymous oircular, with tbe eve
