Editors : Our rising little town is quiet, jet we feel that we ure gaining sufli -ient importance in the com mercial world to make it tuko an interest in what is going on. Just after the sur render, Hogansville contained but three or tour houses; now we have a popula tion of about five hundred’, thirteen busi ness houses, consisting of urooery bouses, three; d y goods, two;one furni ture and tinware; one drug store, aud one liquor store—the rest keep mixed stocks of dry goods and groceries steam gt .st aud planing mill. There is no hotter country in the State of Georgia than that in a circuit of ten miles of Hogansville, while I oan safely say, certainly no better people. We havo fiue water aud good health, and the best babies in the world. Hardly a month passes that a new house d'>C8 not go up within the oorpo ration limits. Mr. Lofton has torn away the old hotel, and is now building on the site. He proposes to put up one that will be an ornament to our town and con u try.
