IN confequeace of a report having been lately
propagated, and Induftrionfly circulated, in
Charieftown, that Gen. Prevail had refried.to
provide sot the security of womca and Children
during the siege of Savannah, the pnblick may
he convinced how far that report has any founa
datioh in truth by rending the following letters:

the army committed to my care, I fulfil wkpt
