town last August, Two young Negro Men,
named Paris and Anthony. They have been
frequently seen in the town of Savannah, where
they hire themselves out, and pafi for free negroes,
often changing their names.
Pans is country born, artful, and sensible, a
bout five feet eight inches high, tolerably well
made and flout, of a black complexion, very much
pitted with the finallpox, has rather a flat nose,
large eyes and mouth, (hews his teeth when he
laughs, is remarkably ugly faced, and has loft one
of his small toes. ;’ ■ - ‘
Anthony is also country born, artful and sen
sible. rather likely, can shave and dress hair, is
about five feet nine inches high, a little round
ihouldered, has a fear on one of his thighs, one
of his fore weth broke, flat no fed, has a large
mouth and eyes, large flat feet, thick ankles, and
in knee’d.
Any person delivering the above Haves, or ei
ther of them, to me in Charleftown, or to Josiah
Tattnall, Elq. in Savannah, fhali receive five
guineas for each j and a further sum of five guineas
will be paid to any person giving information
■where they, or either of them, have been har
boured or employed, upon conviction of the of

Fire Guineas Reward.
RAN AWAY from the subscriber the 6th and
Bth inst. the following NEGROES. Kin ,
a black fellow, has a blemish in oneeye, and wears
a red shag coat. Rest, a short black wench, thick
lips and big eyes, carried away a mulatto boy a
bout seven years old, a black one about two, and
y©ne about two months old. Hercules, a black fel
low, aboat 22 years old, wears a soldier's uniform,
red and buff. Jacob, about 19 yer* old, stout
made, wears a Hessian uniform. Dick, an old
fellow, flutter*-much.—l will give the above re
ward to any person that will deliver the above
negroes to me, or will give information so as they
miy be got. I will give two guineas for the de
livery of Kkt and Dick alone.

A RULE of bis Majejlys General
Courts made tbe 28 tb Day of
June> 1781.
WHEREAS, by a rule of this Court, made
the 16th day of February, 1 780, reciting,
that, by a former rule of this Court, it was or
dered, that the Provost Marshal, or his Deputy,
should give publick notice in writing, to be affixed
on the Vendue-Houfe, at least thirty days before
the sale of any lands and tenements to be fold by
virtue of any execution of this Court, and where
negroes, or other goods, chattels, and personal
estate, should be seized and levied upon, that then
he should give ten days notice of the sale thereof,
at the place of (ale,'and at fome publick place ia
the pariftr in which such estate should be, and also
at the Vdhdue-Houfe in Savannah ; reciting also,
that, by another rule of this Court, made the 4th
day of December, in the year of our Lord 1780,
it was ordered, that from thenceforth, all lands,
tenements, and slaves, seized under. executidn *6r
attachment, should be fold at the south door of the
Vendue House in the town of Savannah, between
the hours of ten of the in the-f ortnoon and

wife, unless all the parties, or their Council,
should, by fome agreement in writings by them to
be signed, direct otherwise ; and, in refpeft of 0-
ther personal estate, except slaves, and which, „a
account of distance or bulk, could not be brought
to the Vendue-Houfe without great expence and
inconvenience, it was ordered, that the fame ftiouid
be fold on the-premises where seized, in the pre
sence of two white persons at least, besides the
Marshal and his deputies, and the Coroner and his
deputies; reciting also, that the Vendue-Houfe in
Savannah (which was, for many years;before the
rebellion, the place for holding sales by the Pro
vost Marshal) was then in pofleflion of the military,
for the purpose of accommodating the main guard,
and that the fame was moreover in fech a ruinous
state that Marshal's Tales could not be holden there,
until it was evacuated by the military and put in a
proper state of repair; it was therefore ordered,
that from thenceforth publick notice, in writing,
of all reaband personal eilates levied upon, ftiouid
be (luck up at the weft door of the Church in Sa
vannah, and also advertised in the publick Gazette,
and that all Tales by the Provost Marshal, under
the authority of this Court, or by the Coroner,
where the Marshal was incompetent to adt, on ac
count of consanguinity, intcreft, or otherwise,
should be holden and made, at the times respec
tively dire&ed by the said recited rules of Court,
and the Attachment Adi, at that room in the House
in Saint James’s Square where the Superior Courts
were then holden, and not elftwhere, until the
said Court should order the contrary :
AND WHEREAS Lewis Joknfton jun. Esq,
the present Provost Marshal, hath prepared a
building in Bull Street in Savannah, next to the
dwelling-hoafe of the Honourable Lewis Johnston,
Esq% there, it is therefore ordered, that from
henceforth publick notice, in writing, of all real
and personal estates levied upon, (hall be stuck up
at the weft door of che Church in Savannah, and
also advertised in the publick Gazette \ and that
all Tales by the Provost Marshal, under the autho
rity of this Court, or by the Coroner, where the
Marshal is incompetent to adl, on account of con
sanguinity, intcreft, or otherwise, (hall be holden
and made, at the times above refpedtivdy direded
by the above recited rules of Court, and the At
tachment Ad, at the said building of the said Lewis
Johnston jun. herein particularly deferibed, and not
elftwhere, until this Court fhali order the contrary.
And a copy of this rule is hereby direded to be
inserted in the publick Gazette forthwith, and to
be continued three weeks successively, that all suit
ors and others may have due notice thereof.

IN the storm last Thursday afternoon a boat d
verfet a: Tybeej and the only and ughterofMr,
Grecntrce, in the Commifllry Generai’s Depart
ment, aged about ten years, wa unfortunately
drowned : The main top-mall er.d main top gal
lant-mall of the lliip Camberwell, lying in die
Harbour, were llruck and (haltered into pieces by
lightning : The Ihip Amazon, which lay at Cock
fpur, drove from her anchor, and being laid on her
beam ends, her main and mizen malls were oblig
ed to be cut away to save her from being wrecked:
And much damage was also done by the wind to
the buildings on several plantations near town.
On Tuesday last the General Aflembly of this
province met here purluant to adjournment.
Advice was received right before last from the
Creek Nation that Mr. Daws, Poll Rider, had
escaped and got there from PenfaCola. The ac
counts he brought, (and which are generally cre
dited) we are told, were: That the day after the
surrender of that place the French and Spanilh Ihipi
of she line put to Tea ; that focm after three velLJi
failed for New Orleans with negroes and dry goods
purchased from theEwgliffi, but had returned, rot
being able to get into that place on account of 9
British fleet Having appeared on the coafl; &ndthal
when he was fome distance from the town he heard
a prodigious firing of cannon, which he imag ned
to be occasioned by the arrival of our men of war
off that place. We hope F>on to hear of the pro
vince of Weft Florida being recovered to u> by tbe
Britilh arms.

mediately embarked on board the Sandwich, and proceeded
with all poilibJe expedition to St. Euftatius, and anchored
before ahe town about two o'clock on the 3d inflaui, and
in conjunction with the Admiral summoned the Govcrnof
to make an immediate surrender of the Island and all
