FIRE DANGER
The present.drouth makes an acute
occasion for every precaution against
fire.
The individual interests of every
citizen is that for caution against
fire accidents.
Wooden structures are dry and
sun-baked—roofs dry and easy of
nition.
Many flues may he congested with
soot and if cool evenings invito
especial precaution should be taken,
providential reasons to serve the
club as president for the year is a
source of great disappointment to
the members: she having been one of
the most progressive and construe
tive leaders the club has had and
under whose leadership has made
many forward strides in club life.
Several new persons have been giv¬
en membership and Mrs. Green’s suc¬
cessor will be named at a general
meeting of the club.
In spite of the disappointment Mrs.
Green’s resignation brings, the calen
dar programs are most interesting
and the club is entering into the new
year with bright prospects for a
splendid and successful club year.
The first general meeting will be
held on the sixth of October with
Mrs. Neltie Miller hostess and Mrs.
Walter Allen will arrange the pro
gram for the day, the topic being,
“Our Club—Its Aims and Ambitions.”
