Women Meeting »
The Presbyterian Women of
the Church will hold their month¬
ly general meeting on Monday
night at 8:00 in the Woolf oik
Room at the Church. Cookies and
punch will be served under the
direction of Mrs. T. W. Cleveland.
This month’s special emphasis is
Church Extension, and the Worn
an’s chairman for this area of
work is Mrs. R. E. Lanyon. She
will present the Reverend Mr.
Robert D. Ernest, Executive Sec¬
retary of the Augusta Macon
Presbytery, who lives in Macon.
An offering for Church Extension
will be received. A brief business
meeting will be presided over by
Mrs. Harry Reddick, President.
All women of the Church and
others interested are cordially in
vited to attend.
Mrs. F. E. Flowers, Mrs. T. C.
Garwood, and Mrs. R. E. Lanyon
will serve together with Mrs.
Cleveland on tl »3 Refreshment

First In Crawford
Billy Harrison, son of Mr. and
Mrs. L. Holmes Harrison, Musella,
will be the valedictorian, or first
honor, graduate of the Crawford
County High School at Roberta,
it was announced this week.
The firs.t four honor graduates
of the class of seven boys and 12
girls are boys, the announcement
said,
In addition to Harrison, the hon¬
or graduates and the order of
their scoring are: Chip Seagler,
second; Clay Wright, third- and
Harry Rowell, fourth.
HUNT HIGH SCHOOL RATES
FIRST IN DISTRICT IV ARTS
The H. A. Hunt High School,
for its total participation in Fine
Arts, rates fiyst place in District
IV for 1958-59.
The school receive a score of 23
points for having a rating of not
less than “excellent” in all areas.
The ratings are as follows: Mu
sic—four points; Dance—five po
ints; One Act Play— five points;
Boys’ Oration—five points; am!
Essay writing—four points. Five
and four points equal superior and
excellent, respectively.

Miss Saralane Evans was guest
speaker at the Library Auxiliary
when the group met Wednesday
at the home of Mrs. Sinclair Fred¬
erick on College Street. She was
introduced by Mrs. L. W. Smith,
program chairman for the meet¬
ing.
Miss Evans has recently return¬
ed from Switzerland whpre she
studied for a year and will grad¬
uate with the Senior Class at the
Fort Valley High School. She

Switzerland.

Louis Duncan, a senior at Hunt
High School, tied for first place
in the Annual Oratorical Contest
sponsored by the Funeral Direct
ore Association and lost the chance
to vie for State honors on the flip
of a coin. The subject of the ora¬
tion was “Funeral Directing, A
Profession Dedicated To Service”.
First Place carried a prize of
S25.00.

Swimming Pool will open for the
1059 season on Sunday, May 24th,
at 2:00 P.M. This will be pre¬
ceded by the Annual Picnic. Bring

New larger club house facilities
