Torise Battle, Public Information Officer from Peach County Schools, visited Luann O’Steen’s
third grade and Anna Clements fifth grade classes for Career Day at Hunt Elementary School. Battle
taught the studenls about the five W s and tl >e H of journalism: who, what, when, where, when, why.
and how. From her lesson, the students wrote their own article about Career Day:
“On April 3, 2009, Hunt Elementary School had Career Day. Mrs. Tennyson (counselor), Mrs.
Flowers (principal) and the teachers helped plan Career Day. Lots of people were there: Mr. Jamie
Johnson, Frito Lay, Mrs. Rumph and Mr. Spratt. All the visitors told the students about their jobs to
help students find out what they want to do when they grow up. They also talked about how they got
their jobs and how their jobs can be fun. Friday was a great day to have Career Day!”
