CLCP/L.E.A.P. - LITERACY
EDUCATION FOR ADULTS
IN PEACH INC.
Did you know that new job
opportunities are coming to
the Middle Georgia area? Will
you be able to take advantage
of them? If you do not have a
high school or GED diploma,
your chances are very limited in
getting an interview and landing
a J ob However, you still have
time to begin the process of eam
y° ur General Educational
Development (GED) diploma.
Free da y and evenm S classes are
taught by Middle GA Technical
College instructors weekly in
Byron and Fort Valley.
L.E.A.P.. your business, gov¬
ernment, educational nonprofit
organization, promotes literacy
and brings awareness to the
advantages of a more literate
community. New businesses and
industry are looking for commu¬
nities with a great school system
and a large job pool of skilled
applicants, among other fac¬
tors. By encouraging relatives,
friends, and co-workers to earn
a diploma or upgrade their skills
will not only benefit each per¬
son but Peach County's over¬
all economy. Attracting new
industry will give our children
an opportunity to come back
home and perhaps begin their
own business. After all, we are
constantly reminded that the
children are our future, and they
really are.

Education Centers, please visit

GRACE HOUSE TONS OF
LOVE PROJECT
The second annual “Grace
House Tons of Love Food
Project” is underway and will
run through Christmas. The
Grace House distributed 110
tons (220,000 lbs) of food last
year to the poor and the needy
in the Fort Valley Community.
The Grace House pays .10 cents
per pint of food at the Middle
Georgia Community Food Bank
Macon Georgia. This equates to
just $200 per ton (2,000 lbs).
We are asking churches, busi¬
nesses, clubs, schools, organiza¬
tions. individuals to please con¬
sider sponsoring one or more
tons of food for the holiday sea¬
son. 100 0/0 of the sponsorship
will go to purchase food at the
Grace House.
Our goal this year is 100 tons
of food sponsored. The demand
upon Grace House are ever
increasing due to teh economic
down fall and high unemploy¬
ment rate. We are seeing more
an dmore poeple who find them¬
selves for the first time relying on
such organizations as the Grace
House due to loss of job or
unemployment benefits. Never
befoe has it been more iimportant
than for the community to reach
out to those in need. Remember
most of us are one or two pay
checks from being in the same
situation.
Again please consider a one
time tax deductable gift to “The
Grace House Tons of Love Food
Project (make checks payable to
“Grace House”)
