Children's Day was olwrvod lit Mt. Tii-

imonies. A good program had been ur-
nngeil; there were about twenty recita
tions, mid -evt-rnl essays were read. Ex
cellent musie wus rendered by the ehoir,
while Mis-es Bertha Rnkcstraw and Mal-
tle Ragsdale performed alternately on the
organ.

Young Ragsdale delivered the ml Iress f

received. Young Ragsdale is a talented
young man, full of energy mnl high ns-
plratious, and is destined to make ids
nark in the world. In the afternoon Rev.
J. T. Eakes preached to the children.
Mr. Eakes always preaches well, but this
sermon was one of ids he t. It was full
of practical instruction to the children, as
well ns older people. Mr. A. 1*. Griggs,
superintendent of Die Mt. Tabor Sunday
School, performed Ids part well.
The good Mies had prt pared an excel
lent dinner for the occasioa. There were
about 500 persons present, good order pre
vailed during the day. the weather was
pleasant, and nothing occurred to mar the
enjoyment of our picnic.
Such occasions cannot fall to inspire
good thoughts ami higher ideals of life.
