SEABOARD EXTENSION.
The people of Dallas and
Paulding county will be grati
fied to know that the location
of the Seaboard Air Line ex
tension (so we learn) is no
longer a matter of conjecture.
The line lias been finally lo
cated and but little remains
to be done. When the resi
dent, engineers have finished
some cross staking and the
remaining right-ol-vvay has
been secured, dirt will be
promptly broken on the grade.
The people of Dallas may
congratulate themselves for
their definite action in tender
ing to this great enterprise
their friendliness in the re-;
cent mass meeting as it had
very great weight with the
authorities.

We are extremely fortunate
in getting this railroad

Dallas direct connection with
Ccdartown and Marietta,
two of best towns in this sec
tion of the state.

The legislature of Virginia
has passed a bill by an over
whelming majority forbidding
the employment of any child
under twelve years of age in
the mills or factories of that
state.
It is the duty of the state to
prevent child labor. A child
up to fourteen years of age
should be at school and not be
compelled to turn the weary
wheel of toil, stunting his body
and checking the development
of his mind.
