A preacher in Kansas the other

air. People kiss their dead who
never stop to kiss their living.
They, hover over caskets in hys
teric sobs, but fail to throw ^heir
arms about loved ones who are
lighting the stern battle of life.
A word of cheer to the struggling
soul in life is. worth, more than

LOVE YOUR WORK.
It is the possession of just
such qualities that makes suc
cess possible for every boy and
man in this country No matter
what 3 our business or profession,
love your work. Choose that
career which ia best suited to
your abilities, that career which
you love, and then throw your
self into your work with, all your
energy and' strength. It is not
the one who works merely for
the sake of acquiring wealth who
succeeds best- It is he who works
for work’s sake— the one who is
in love with his work, business
or profession— to whom success
most surely comes.
If the desire to grow rich is the
principal aim in life, failure is
certain. The writer who writes
merely for the dollar his work
will bring, will never succeed,
but he who writes because he
believes he has something to say
to fellow men that will benefit
them, is the one the world wants
to hear from.
And so it is with all classes of
business. He who goes into his
work with his whole heart and
all his strength of mind and body,
giving to it his time, energy and
talents because lie cannot help it,
will find his place,.
A Remarkable Case.

straining so weakened me Mint I run down-

a number of remedies to no avail until L

bottles of this wonderful remedy cured
mu entirely of the cough, strengthened
my lungs and restored me to my normal
weight, health and strength." A. J.

A raw recruit, in the cavalry,
named Murphy w’as given one of
.the worst buckers in the whole
troop to ride,. He had never
beon on a.horse in his life, and
the drill was anything but a re-
creator to him,, as sequel will
shew.
“Now my men” said the ser
geant, addressing them, “no one
is allowed to dismount without
orders from' a superior ollicer.
Remember that.”
Tim. was no sooner in tho-saddle
than he was hurled head over
heels through the air, and came
down so hard that the breath
was almost, knocked out of him.
“Murphy!” shouted the ser
geant when ho discovered the
man spread out on tiie ground,
“you dismounted.”
“I did”
“Did yon have orders? From
headquarters, I suppose,” with a
sneer.
“No, from, hindquarters.” ■
Tragedy Averted.
“Just in the uick of time our little boy
was saved” wiites Mrs. \V. Watkins of
Pleasant City, Ohio. "Pneumonia had/
played sad havoc with him and u terrible

A young man who fiad returned
home from South Africa, where
he hadi been for his health, nar
rated his adventures to his father
and told him among other things

$5,0U0, says London Tid Bits.

Cotton has reached 10 cents and

DANGER oVcOLDS and GRIP
The greatest danger from oolds and.
grip is their resulting in pneumonia. If
reasonable care is used,, however, and
Chaniberluin’s Cough Remedy taken, all
danger will be avoimd. Among Ihe tens
of thousands who have used this remedy
for these diseases-v,e have yet to learn of
a single enso- having resulted in pneu
monia, which-shows conclusively that it
is a certain preventive of that dangerous
disease. It will cure a cold or nu attack
of the grip in less lime than any other
treatment. It is pleasant and safe to take..
