To The Workers.
A new year has come to ub in
freshness, filled to the brim with
new and flowing opportunities
for work in the ijunday schools
of the county. It is to be hoped
that among the many new reso
lutions which we have made for
1908 we did not fail to*includo a
resolution to do our piain duty
toward the Sunday school (or
more correctly biblo school) in
your church. We are lotting slip
every day] opportunities which
manv of our fathers and mothers
longed for, and for which num
berless souls have famished. Do
you realize that daily there flows
by you unheeded springs—yes,
rivers of opportunity, a mere sip
of which some day you would die
to gain? Oh, was there over such
a time when greater responsibil
ity was resting upon heedless,
careless, thoughtless hearts?
Where is the opportunity, and
what is the opportunity, do you
ask?
Man, do you really want to
know. Do you truly want to
know whore or how you might
step in? Then we must say to
yon that you have no need of
them being pointed out to you.
Just open your eyes and look.
Don’t gaze into space, but look
for something. You’ll see plenty
to do. If you’re only willing,
more will present itself to you
thau you can do in a lifetime—
and you’ll need no trained hand,
mind or heart to assist you.
Now, for "our” work, ye sturdy
Baptists,we have|I7churches (and
should be as many schools) in
our association. Are you doing
anything to help those who are
so faithfully laboring to train the
minds and hearts of your boys
and girls (and older ones) in the
way that leads to Life?
Do you ever get the work on
your miud in the deep, Btill hours
of night, where there is nothing
to detract and think, just think
of what you might do? You say
you do. Then all right. If you’re
thinking, we feel quite sure
pretty soon we will have a new
worker.
Is the school in your church
just what it ought to be? Is ev
ery scholar in that school who
ought to be there? A few out
you say? And you are earnestly
seeking an opportunity are you?
Well, there you are. Go after
them. If you want a dollar you
work for it don’t you? If you
want that boy or girl, work for
them, and you’ll get them so sure
as von do.
Let every Held secretary in the
four districts of the county fix
upon his mind and heart now the
wonderful fiold of training for
usefulness uow lying waste iu so
many homes, and let us together
make such united efforts for this
one year as that when we shall
have reached its close we can
look back over its days of toil
and self-denying effort, and with
our hauds on our hearts say that
we have done all we could. Do
you feel discouraged and waut to
drop out? Do you think your ef
forts are unavailing, and that
yon can do nothing more? Then
read Philippians, 4:13, and start
all over again. We can do some
thing. The question is, are we
willing to be even used., I be
lieve we are. Will you follow
where He leadeth?
Faithfully yours,
U. L. Tubnfk,
Pres. Tallapoosa Bap. 8. 8. Asso.

There is so much rheumatism
here in our neighborhood now
that the following advice by an
eminent authority, who writes
for readers of a large eastern
daily paper, will be highly ap
preciated by those who suffer:
Get from any good pharmacy
one-half ounce Fluid Extract
Dandelion, one ounce Compouud
Kargon, three ounces of Com
pound Syrup Sarsanarilla. Shake
these well in a bottle and take in
teaspoonful doBes after each meal
and at bedtime; also drink plen
ty of good water.
It is claimed that there are
few victims of this dread and
torturous disease who will fail to
find ready relief in this simple
home-made mixture, and in most
cases a permanent cure is the re
sult.
This simple recipe is said to
strengthen and cleanse the elim
inative tissues of the kidneys so
that they can filter and strain
from the blood and system the
poisons, acids and waste matter,
which cause not only rheumatism,
but numerous other diseases.
Every man or woman here who
feels that their kidneys are not
healthy and active, or who suffer
from any urinary trouble what
ever, should not hesitate to make
up this mixture, as it is certain
to do much good, and may save
you from much misery and suf
fering after while.
Our homo druggists say they
will either supply the ingredi
ents or mix the prescription ready
to take if our readers ask them
Granger.
