I began to tell her about my

world made them leave you so
quick, surely they did not en

Prayer of Billy Sunday.
The following prayer made
to the Almighty by Billy Sun
day last Sunday in Los Angeles
Cal., is so sweet and good, we
reprint it from the Journal for
the benefit of our readers:
“Almighty God. our Heaven
ly Father, we pray Thee that
the war may continue until the
Prussian militarism is swept off
the face of the earth, until the
snake of autocracy is crushed
forever,, until democracy is un
shackled, until justice has a
fair show, until the virtue of wo
men is sure of protection, until
little children no longer go hun
gry, until the kaiser and his co
horts have unpacked their
trunks on St. Helena’s barren
rocks.
( “And in the meantime give
each one of us the fighting spir
it that led the crusaders to vic
tory. If we do not fight with
our hands in the trenches, help
us to fight with sacrificing heart
at home.
“Thou knowest, 0 Lord, we
have not entered this bloody
war on account of avarice and
we do not covet Germany’s land
We have drawn the sword to de
fend our country against the
most infamous, blood thirsty
horde of human harpies that ev
er disgraced the earth. They
respect neither law nor religion
nothing is sacred as it stands in
their path.
“O Lord, bless the president;
give him wisdom; bless all the
councils of state and war. Keep
us a united nation in fact and
spirit. Bless the army and na
vy. Many of our brave boys al
ready sleep somewhere in
France, or beneath the sea.
Bring victory to our cause, be
cause we know it is your cause.
We have joined hands and hop
es and hearts with our noble al
lies that this world may be a
safe place in which to live.
“Thou knowest, Lord, that
the tidal wave of sneering unbe
lief that has blighted the faith
of millions and denied that Je
sus is Thine only begotten son,
came from the beer mugs of the
pretzel crowd across the sea.
This, together with the deluge
of blood, is enough to make hell
laugh and heaven weep.
“Lord, Thou hast never for
saken our flag. It waves with
out a stain. May it lead every
step of the way until the iron
cross is sunk fathoms in hell
and the world rests once more
bathed in the radiance of the
cross of Christ.
“All this we ask in the name
of Jesus Christ, Thy Son, our Sa
vior. Amen.

Condition of Literature.
Literature may be oversexed, as a
contemporary claims, but the modern
output is decidedly undermanned at
that —Washington Post.
Our year begins on August Ist of each year and
ends on July 31st of the next year.
Last year we sold 93 Ford Cars. Our estimate
was 114 Ford Cars.
Our estimate this year is only 96 Ford cars. We
never get over 90 per cent of our estimate. We have
already sold and delivered 12 Ford cars on new es
timate.
We would have sold 50 more cars last year could
we have gotten them. This year cars are scarcer
than ever. The demand for cars is almost twice as
great this year as last.
You can see where this is leading us to! We may
be able to get cars this winter, but we must have
the orders for same in advance.
Take warning and if you intend to buy a Ford
car next summer have it delivered this winter. This
is no idle talk. We want to sell them worse than
you want to buy them, and we know that if we
don’t make our deliveries between now and Spring
that we can’t get the cars and will lose tht sales.
