If somebody should ask you
why they haven’t carried Pat to
the army, you tell them that Un
cle Sam wants this war to last a
while, and he knows that as soon
svs I go it will end. You know
I’ve got about fifteen uncles, and
every one of them is a coward
hut Uncle Sam, and he wants to
fight.
I suppose that’s where I get
my bravery. When I get scared,
I’d stay where I could get my
feet to stay with me. But they
start off, and I never did like to
be by myself, so I just go on.
Mr. P. W. Green and family

luth.
Polly, you know why God
hasn’t called any more women to
nreach the gospel ? Because He
knew if one was preaching and
some lady should come in the
house with the man she was lik
ing, that she might preach that
lady’s funeral then. I’ve been to
funerals that were preached by
ladies, and they are not so sad.
Good ladies, I beg your par
don. I hope you all will not be
| angry with me for this fun.

| loved one woman, and thought if

! any other man rbut I have real
ized that Hill Billey loves more
than one. lie and 1 are alike on
that line.
