In Loving Memory.
‘Of our dear father, Thomas
Ashworth, who departed this
life June 6th, 1919, age 60
years. He was laid to rest at
Shiloh. Papa had been sick on
ly one week and five days but
suffered with patience. Oh,
how hard it was to stand a
round his be dand see him suff
er. He joined the Baptist
church when quite young and
lived a true Christian life. It
almost broke my heart to see
him suffer. He is gone but not
forgotten. He is not dead on
ly sleeping in the arms of his
dear Savior. He has paid the
debt we will all have to pay
sooner or later.
A precious one from us in
gone a voice we loved is stilly
a place is vacant in our home
that never can be filled. Dear
papa thou hast left us and thy
loss we deeply feel ; but tis God
that hast bereft us He can al!
our sorrows heal. If we live a?
papa did we can meet him in
heaven where all will be joy
and peace forever. The golden
gates were open wide and a
gentle voice said an
angel from the other side wel
comed our loved one home.
Heaven now retains our treas
ures, earth the lonely
keep an ; Ine sunbeams long
to linger where our loved one
Sleep dearest one we have laid
thee in the peaceful but
the memory shall destroy in all
his bloom, dear papa will say
grieve not for me as you have
heir to Ci.r ii he.-. • , n then
may we be prepared to meet
in that home, and where there
will be no sickness nor death to
seperate us from our loved ones
Then papa we are glad we
can sing asleep in Jesus blessed
sleep from which none ever
wake to weep. We loved him,
yes we loved him but the angels
loved him best and God saw
fit to call him to yonder heaven
ly rest. Oh, how sad it is nev
er again will we see that sweet
face again on earth but still
brighter and sweeter up yonder
May we all live a life so we can
meet papa in the sweet bye and
bye. There was a band in
heaven that was not quite com
plete and God called our dear
papa to fill the vacant seat.
Words cannot tell the sad
ness that filled our hearts when
from dear papa we had to part
Lonely the hour since dear darl
ing has gone but his suffering
is over and he is enjoying the
sweetness of heaven. Peace
ful in the grave so low thou art
waiting for the dear ones be
low we will join the heavenly
land no more to take the part
ing hand.

Of Mrs. W. H. Montgomery
who departed this life Nov. 15,
1918. She was about 52 years
old when the Lord said thou
hast suffered enough come up
higher. She leaves a husbad
7 children and 9 grand-children
and a host of relatives and
friends to mourn her loss, but
out loss is her eternal gain. She
was a loving a devoted
mother and all who knew her
loved her she was always read
y to help ’in to do any
thing she could. Tis so sad to
thnik of never seeing mother
on eart hany but we have
the blessed assurance of meet
ing her in heaven if we live as
we should. I would say to her
children that have not profess
ed a hope in Christ to do so
without delay and to live so
that when God calls for them
that they will meet their moth
er ad sister who is waiting and
watching for them to look to
God who can all sorrows heal.
Mothre was sick for several
months but she seemed to
think to the very last that she
would get well she wanted to
so bad but God knows best.
We canno understand why He
has taken her but some day
we will know,
She is gone but not forgot
ten. Sleep on dear mother,
peaceful sleep from which
none ever wake to weep. 1
want the prayers of all Chris
tian people who read this that
we may all live so that when
God says time on earth is no
earth is no more we will hear
that welcome applause ‘thou
has been faithful over a few
things I will make thee ruler
over man ythings come ito the
joys of the Lord.
Mother is resting in the arms
of Jesus and enjoying the
sweets of heaven. She is with
her father and mother and
daughter and other loved ones
who have gone on before.
When this life is over w T ehope
to meet them where there will
be no more sad parting and I
pray that the circle will not be
broken that there will not be
a missing link, that the chain
will be whole.
She was laid to rest at Gum
