FOR SOLICITOR GENERAL
To the People of the Blue
Ridge Circuit.
I hereby f announce my can
didacy to succeed myself as Solicitor
General of said Cjr'Uit in the primary
to be held on< September 8, 1920,
which dale is fixed by law, subject to

If elected, I shall continue my uni
form policy of fairness to the Slate

continue to discourage the finding of
bills of indictment where the prose

solely by malice, or where the charge

public policy and expensive to the
county,
/ am serving an unexpired term
and, if my administration has met
your approval, I ask in fairness that
l be given an endorsement, assuring
each and every one of you that I will
deeply appreciate your support.

For School Superintendent.
To the voters of Forsyth county
I hereby announce my can
didacy for the office of County
School Superintendent, sub
ject to the action of the demo
cratic primary.
I was born and reared in
Settendown district of Forsyth
county, and hatfe taught school
thirteen years.
In asking your support for
this office it is just to you that
my platform be made known.
I am opposed to consolidating
the schools of our county. Ev
ery community that can main
tain a school is entitled to a
school. I favor abolishig the
present monthly average of
forty as the base for teachers
pay and paying them a definite
amount so they will know exact
ly what the Board will pay and
the patrons will know precise
ly the amount they are to sup
plement.
I favor holding the Teach
ers’ Institute monthly which
will enable the Superintendent
to keep in closer touch with the
work done in the schools, and
relieve the teachers from at
tending the Institute five days
in succession, when they who
farm are most needed at home.
I favor a uniform time for daily
opening and closing rf all the
schools and requiring the
teachers 1 to observe the same.

IT is interesting to note that among the
earlier Buick Valve-in-Head motor cars
manufactured, there are still hundreds of
these Models in active daily service. This
wonderful endurance stamina consis
tent performance is so well established and
maintained that the Buick car has become
a definite standard of motor car value.
Prospective purchasers—Buick owners—
and the exacting public, find that these
Buick assets are the basis for the enviable
reputation of the Buick Valve-in-Head car
today—this unusual efficiency, quality and
performance is found only in the Buick
Valve-in-Head motor car.

Don’t Let Catarrh Drag

There is a more serious stage of
Catarrh than the annoyance caused
by the stopped-up air passages,
and the hawking and spitting and
other distasteful features.
The real danger comes from the
tendency of the disease to continue
its course downward until the
lungs become affected, and then
dreaded consumption is on your
