NOTES & COMMENT
The American people are fortunate this fall
that they must not be “saved” by the politicians
who are not running for Congress
In spite of the receent opposition voiced by
Representative Reed (R- N. Y.), we thing Con
gress is in a mood to cut taxes next year
Fall is one of nature’s greatest shows: you
can enjoy the next few months immensely if you
take time to observe what is all around you
Unfortunately, there is not always a right and
wrong solution to a situation. Sometimes there
are only two courses f action, bad and worse
The crop of pretty things in the schools and
colleges this fall is better than .usual. The foot
ball heroes have something to strut their stuff
about

The Christmas season is expected to produce
a new business boom in late November and De
cember, but we would like to see the commer
cial side of the holiday played down
After reading some of the ads, we are almost
afraid to put some of Ilhe* gasolines in our
car, lest it take off aruf pass everything on thte
road with its “new power.”
The month of September brought labor the
news that total employment was at an all-time
high, and wages at the highest level, which is
pretty good news for one month
The world has always had people, and editors
who posed as if they know all the answers; it is
not so. The honest man knows few answers, but
his opinion is often worth something.
