RECOVERED—Part of a $742 burglary of a houseboat at Bald
Ridge Marina owned by Maurice Hilliard Jr. of Roswell, was
recovered Friday night at the home of Maston Holtzclaw, off
Highway 369, and from a houseboat at the same location,
owned by him. Richard Satterfield, Forsyth County chief in
vestigator who recovered the property with the assistance of
five deputies from the sheriff’s department, said that at the
time of the burglary the Holtzclaw houseboat was docked at
Bald Ridge.

companied a group of people
on a deep sea fishing ex
pedition to Carrabelle, Fla.
The Gulf fishing party in
cluded Mrs. Nalley, Mr. and
Mrs. Eudon Webb of Car
tersville and Mr. and Mrs.
Roy Walker of Marietta.
Mrs. Nalley reported that
the first day’s catch included
red snapper and grouper.

Smith To Appeal
Forsyth County’s new
courtroom opened last week
with a case that will be ap
pealed to the Federal Court,
according to the defendent B.
W. (Tex) Smith, who was
found guilty on a charge of
obstructing an officer, and not
guilty on a charge of simple
battery.
Smith, who was involved in
a headon collision off Highway
19, north of Cumming, March
16, said he will not appeal his
case until trials against
Forsyth County Sheriff Don
Pirkle are heard.
Pirkle’s hearings on 11
counts opened Monday in
Superior Court with Judge
Morgan Pope on the bench.
Pirkle’s name had been
eliminated from a list of
witnesses to be called by the
state in the Smith hearing.
The accident, at about 9
a.m., was investigated by
