Dunagans Are Wed
At Home on Aug. 23
Patricia Diane Jones and
Lanny Wanzle Dunagan
were, united in marriage on
Saturday, Aug. 23, at 7 p.m.
at the couple’s future home
in Gainesville.
The bride is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Jones of
Forsyth County. The groom
is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
C.D. Dunagan Sr. of Gaines
ville.
The Rev. Carl Stewart of
Concord Baptist Church per
formed the ceremony.
A program of wedding mu
sic was presented by organ
ist Revonda Moody of
Gainesville and soloist Cleon
Nalley of Helen, the groom’s
uncle.
Given in marriage by her
mother and father, the bride
wore a Queen Fit gown de
signed of polyester organza,
fully lined in acetate taffeta,
with a sweetheart neckline,
long bishop sleeves and em
pire waistline. The gown
was appliqued in seeded
pearls from a necklace be
longing to the groom’s
mother.
The bride’s bouquet was of
sonia roses, long stem white
daisies and baby’s breath.
The bride’s sentimental
items included a pair of
pearl earrings belonging to
Loretta Jones, the bride’s
sister-in-law, a pearl neck
lace belonging to Margie
Dunagan, the groom’s
mother, and a lace and blue
satin garter, a gift from
Mary Lee Dunagan, the
groom’s sister-in-law.
Linda Jones of Forsyth
County served as the maid of
honor. Bridesmaids were
Loretta Jones of Forsyth
County, the bride’s sister-in-

Mary Rollins Dunagan of
Gainesville, the groom’s
niece, and Chasity Bruce,
daughter of Debbie Jones of
Forsyth County, served as
flower girls. Samuel Jones,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary
Jones of Forsyth County and
nephew of the bride, served
as the ring bearer.
Mrs. Jones chose for her
daughter’s wedding a pale
yellow, full length gown of
polyester crepe. Her corsage
was a purple-throated or
chid.
Mrs. Dunagan chose for
her son’s wedding a brown
and beige, full-length, two
piece dress of tiered or
gandy. Her corsage was a
purple-throated orchid.
A rehearsal dinner was
given by the groom’s par
ents on the eve of the cere
mony at the Elk’s Club in
Gainesville.
Following the ceremony, a
reception was given by the
bride’s parents at the home
of the couple.
The cake was three-tiered
and made of a lace cake
stand with four arms around
the bottom. Each bottom
had a layer, decorated with
apricot and white daisies
with greenery.
Assisting with the cake
were Elaine Stephens and
Robin Duran, both of Gai
nesville.
Debbie Jones and Dawn
Coffman of Forsyth County
and Mary Lee Dunagan of
Gainesville assisted in serv
ing the punch, nuts, mints
and melonballs.
Cheryl Cagle of Gaines
ville kept the bride’s book.
The rice bags were distrib
uted by Tracy and Stephanie
Jones, daughters of Mr. and
Mrs. Ricky Jones, and Te
resa Cantrell, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Cantrell,
all of Forsyth County.
After a wedding trip to
Bermuda, the couple will
make their home in Gaines
ville.

A Country Food Festival
will be held at Lake Lanier
Islands’ Presentation Point
Pavillion Sept. 20-21 from 10
a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
The weekend festival will
