Renaissance Club meets
at Forsyth Central
The Renaissance Club of Forsyth
County Central High School will meet
at 7 p.m. on Nov. 4 (Monday) in the
school library. This club has been or
ganized as a academic booster club to
recognize the achievements of merit
award winning students and to sup
port the teachers and educators at the
school in their efforts to raise the
quality level of the education of our
young people. We will be discussing
our role in the “Georgia 2000" Educa
tion Improvement Campaign. We en
courage all interested parents, educa
tors, business people, politicians and
civic leaders to attend. If you have any

Bethany Baptist to
hold fashion show
Bethany Baptist Church will be pre
senting a Women-Less Fashion Show
on Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. $5 Donation for
adults, children six years and under
free. A concession area will be open,

Hwy. We will have lots of crafts, yard

cokes. So come on out for lots of food,

started a bible study
Haw Creek Baptist Church is hold
ing a Bible study on “What Baptists
Believe,” A Study of Baptist Doctrine.
Brother John Lummus is teaching the
study on Tuesday evenings Sept. 10-

Forsyth Association of
Educators has meet
The Forsyth County Association of
Educators met Oct 1. Plans were
made for various activities to observe
American Education Week Nov. 17-
23. FCAE plans to have special educa
tion theme T-shirts to sell as well as
sponsor a short written composition
contest. Winning compositions will be
read over WHNE and WWEV and be
sent to local newspapers in Nov.
Students will write about “Why
School is Cool”.
Gospel singing at
South Forsyth High
There will be a Thanksgiving Gos
pel singing at South Forsyth High
School Saturday, Nov. 23 at 7:30 p.m.
The singers featured will be The
Homeland Boys of Flowery Branch,
The Phillips Family of Cumming and
Scott Truitt and The Bagwell Family
of Cumming. There will be no admis
sion but any love offering will be
accepted.

Wednesday evenings using the “One-
Year Bible”. After one year, those
participating will have read the en
tire Bible. Two groups are meeting on
Wednesday; one at 6:45 p.m. and one

one that one can begin this class at

The Blessing Center currently has
food available for those in need. It is
located at Sawnee Mountain Church
of God at 302 Pilgrim Mill Road in
Cumming and it is open Monday,
Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m.
until 2 p.m. Those who need food sup
plies are encouraged to stop by.

Mr. Kenneth Samples, age 50, of
Samples Rd., Cumming, died Thurs
day afternoon.
Survivors include: wife: Mrs. Phyl
lis Stone Samples of Cumming; chil
dren: Sheila Samples, Sherri and
Tommy Castleberry, Shelli Samples,
all ofCumming; grandchildren: Emily
Ramey, Haley Little; brothers: Roy C.
Samples, Bobby W. Samples, all of
Cumming; sisters: Deen Samples Al
len of Cumming, Willette Villenue of
New Jersey and a number of other
relatives also survive.
Funeral services were held Satur
day at 2 p.m. at Haw Creek Baptist
Church. Rev. Joe Hulsey and Rev. Ru
pert H. Bramblett officiating. Inter
ment was in Sawnee View Gardens.
Mr. Samples was a member of the
Lafayette Lodge 44 F&M, the Cum
ming Shrine Club and Yarrab Tem
ple. He was a member of the Haw
Creek Baptist Church.
Chapter meets the second Saturday of
each month at 8:15 a.m. at Nan’s Res
taurant on the square in Cumming.

Edith K. Threadgill, age 65 of Route
2, Dawsonville, died Tuesday, Oct. 22,
1991.
Survivors include: husband: Samu
el J. Threadgill, Sr. of Dawsonville;
daughter: Susan Barnes ofCumming;
son: Samuel J. Threadgill, Jr. of Oak
wood; mother: Pearl W. Kemp of
Winder; brother: Tom Kemp of Forest
Park.
Mrs. Threadgill moved to Dawson
ville five years ago from Decatur.
Funeral services were schedule for
11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 24 at Bearden
Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Mike
Freeman officiating. Entombment
was in Sawnee View Gardens
Mausoleum.
