Mr. and Mrs. William J. Garner, Jr. ofCumming announce the engagement
and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Melanie Gaye to Mr. Thomas
MarkßartholomewofAtlanta.
The Bride is a 1983 graduate of Forsyth County High School and a 1987
graduate of Tennessee Temple University where she received a Bachelor of
Science in Business Administration. She is currently employed as a Mainte
nance Operations Representative at KnowlegeWare, Inc. of Atlanta.
The groom is the son of Mrs. Carol Kelley Bartholomew of Atlanta and Mr.
R.T. Bartholomew of Raleigh, N.C. He is a 1982 graduate of Crestwood High
School and a 1989 graduate of Georgia State University where he received a
Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. He is currently em
ployed as a Quality Control Analyst with the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.
The wedding is set for Nov. 9,1991 at6p.m. at First Baptist Church ofSandy
Springs. After a trip to Marco Island, Fla., the couple will reside in Acworth.

Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Worsham of Cumming announce the engagement and
forthcoming marriage oftheir daughter, Terri Lynn to Jason Darle Hall, son of
Darle and Marsha Hall of Cumming. The Bride-elect is a 1991 graduate of
Forsyth Central High School. She is currently employed at Wal-Mart in Cum
ming. The Groom-elect is the grandson of L.C. Bagby of Cumming and the late
Grace Bagby; and Marie Hall ofCumming and the late Edwin Hall. He is a 1990
graduate of Forsyth County High School and is employed at The Shutter Shop
in Cumming. The wedding will take place Saturday, Nov. 2,1991, at 2 p.m. at
Concord Baptist Church. All friends and relatives are cordially invited to
attend.

Albany announce the marriage oftheir daughter, Karen Denise, to Jerry Royce
Hurley, Jr. of Hilliard, Ohio formerly of Cumming. Mr. Hurley is the son of
Jackie Patterson Hurley of Talledega, Ala. and Jerry Royce Hurley, Sr., also
formerly of Cumming. The wedding took place Sept 7,1991 at First United
Methodist Church, Albany, Ga. Reception was held in the church fellowship
hall.
The bride is a 1987 graduate of Forsyth County High School and employed as
executive assistant at firegrip gloves, Dublin, Ohio. The bridegroom is em
ployed with Joe Hubbard Construction Company, Dublin, Ohio. After a wed
ding trip to Florida, they now make their home in Hilliard, Ohio.

Mr. and Mrs. Larry H. Hamby of Dawsonville announce the engagement of
their daughter, Ginger Ann, to Kevin Lamar Bearden, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.B.
Bearden, all of Dawsonville.
The bride is a 1987 graduate of Dawson County High School and a 1991
graduate of the Medical College of Georgia. She is employed as a physical
therapist at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.
The groom is a 1983 graduate of Dawson County High School. He is employed
with AT&T in Alpharetta.
All friends and relatives are invited to attend the open church wedding
which will be held at 3 p.m., Nov. 2 at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Cumming.

FNGAGEMENTS, WEDDINGS
Free engagement and wedding forms avadable at The ForeyU, Coun
ty News business office, 121 Dahlonega, make wrrtmgthese articles for
the newspaper publication much easier. With one of The Forcyth Coun
ty News forms there is less chance of leaving out an important item.
Don’t get off on the wrong foot, stop by and pick a copy of each form.
The forms are free.
There is no charge to publish engagement and wedding articles and
there is no charge to publish the pictures that go with them
Deadline for submitting completed forms and photographs is a week
prior to the date they are to be published in the newspaper.
Black and white photographs are preferred but most color photo
graphs will work. An editor will be happy to proof colored photographs
and give an opinion on whether they will reprint to your satisfaction. All
photographs are returned upon request.
Having an account of the wedding and engagment announcements
published in the newspaper is an important part of making the wedding
plans and should not be put off until the last minute.
Updated publication
One of the Government’s most widely distributed publi
cations entitled Federal Benefits For Veterans And De
pendents has been updated for 1991. This best selling
handbook contains up to date descriptions of the wide
range of benefits available to Veterans and their Depen
dents. Eligibility requirements for entitlement to benefits,
the important timetable for benefits, and where to apply
are described in detail.
Education and training benefits for Veterans including
the GI Bill, job training, vocational rehabilitation, and em
ployment assistance are covered extensively. Other major
sections describe VA loans for home-buying Vets, life in
surance, disability benefits, and benefits for survivors. All
VA facilities where Veterans should go for assistance in
cluding VA hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, VET Centers
where counseling is available for Vietnam era Veterans,
and Treatment Centers for alcohol and drug dependence
are listed.
The location of all Veterans Administration National
Cemeteries is also provided along with information on
burial, burial flags, and Presidential Memorial
Certificates.
Other topics of interest to Veterans describe discharge
records, medals and awards, and correction of military
records. Information on the new U.S. Court of Veterans
Appeals is included.
Federal Benefits for Veterans and Dependents is a must
for all Veterans and their Dependents.
