By Mary Pitman
For the Forsyth County News
Look for the Sawnee
Cultural Arts Center to expand
the variety of programs it
offers.
A new executive director
and five new board members
will complement the existing
board.
Each brings something
unique. All are enthusiastic.
Paula DeLong Glover
accepted the position of exec
utive director in February.
Glover has a business manage
ment degree from Gainesville
College and will receive a
degree in marketing this sum
mer from North Georgia
College and State University.
She previously worked two
years as the executive assistant
to the executive director at the
SC AC.
"I am honored that the
SCAC board of directors
offered me this opportunity to
do challenging and rewarding
work for the community,"
Glover said. "The Center has
several new programs and per
formances to offer in 2004 and
1 am excited to be a part of the
wonderful things happening at
SCAC.
"We’re moving slowly
away from being just a rental
facility to offering comprehen
sive cultural activities.
Residents will not have to go
to the Woodruff Arts Center
for quality programs when
they want to spend their free
time."
Among the planned new
programs are a tribute to Lew is
Grizzard and a home and gar
den show in May. a back-to
school expo in July and a
motorcycle show in October.
With her background in
music (she plays piano, clar
inet and sings) and theater in
high school and college,
Glover brings a well-rounded
knowledge of business, sales.
It’s time to become
the woman you want to be.

She says her greatest chal

Renowned artist Thomas Kincade appeared before a group of collectors during a
benefit for the charity World Vision at the Gwinnett Civic Center. Above, Kincade
sketches a scene on the reverse side of one of his paintings. The one-of-a kind
work was sold at auction during the event. Below, winning bidders Nolan and
Terri Ramsey are pictured with Kincade. Looking on is LaDonna Greiner of World
Vision. The painter conducted an autograph session for the more than 500
guests in attendance. The event was hosted by Parsons Gallery, which is located
in Lakeland Plaza in Cumming.
