Forsyth County celebrates National Library Week
Just as when you were a
child, the library is a place to
meet friendly book characters
like Winnie-the-Pooh and
Curious George. Today, the
library still offers books, and
much more. During National
Library Week, which ends
Saturday, the Forsyth County
Public Library encourages
residents to learn more about
new and traditional resources
at the library.
"The public library is the
'people's university,'" says
Jon McDaniel, library direc
tor. "The public library is the
place where you can write a
resume, search for a job. or
get information on repairing
your car. building a deck on
your house or training your
dog."
In today's economy, an
individual's economic suc

access to information and
technology. Public libraries

QUESTION: Do I need a business license
to do business in Forsyth County?
ANSWER: Yes. If you are conducting busi
ness, you will need to obtain a business license
before you start. There are very few exceptions
and they are generally of a charitable, non
profit nature confirmed by a declaration of sta
tus from the IRS or the Tax Commissioners
Office.
QUESTION: If I have a Forsyth County
License and I move my office or sell my
business is the existing license transfer*
able?
ANSWER: Business licenses are not trans
ferable. If you buy or sell an existing business,
the existing license will be null and void. If you
change locations you will need to notify the
Business License Department that you have
moved because the license is issued for each
physical location.
