Photos from friend's past have new life on the net
DEAR ABBY: When we were in our 20s, my
best friend “Debbie” was an actress in
several movies and television shows.
Then she married, started a family and
retired to be a stay-at-home mom.
However, when she was just starting
out and was desperate for work, she
had a nude role in a movie. It wasn’t
pornography, but it was graphic. Her
sons are now in high school and col
lege. Last week, I was searching for
her new e-mail address and did a Web
search on the Internet. I found several pictures
of her that had been taken on the movie set
and those pictures could definitely be called
pornographic.
I doubt if Debbie knows they exist, much
less have been posted on the Internet. Should I
tell her? Or should I keep my mouth shut and
hope for the best?
WORRIED IN W(M)STER. OHIO
DEAR WORRIED: If there were nude pic
tures of YOU on the Internet, wouldn’t you
want to know? Do unto others as you would
have them do unto you. Better she should hear
the news from you.
DEAR ABBY’: I am a 23-year-old single
woman who was in a serious relationship for
three years with a man 1 had known for nearly a
decade since we were children. We parted on
bad terms a year and a half ago.
My friends and family tell me what a won
derful. funny, beautiful person I am that I
have a great personality and I should begin dat
ing again. They are always trying to set me up
with someone. Sometimes the thought is
appealing, but when the time comes to call or
approach a guy. I get scared. I have been asked
out, but 1 never go.
A part of me likes being single, but some
times I get lonely and wish I could find the

TODAY’S BIRTHDAY
(April 23). You have many
wonderful friends rooting for
you this year, and they are
your true wealth. But the cash
flow in May is nothing to
sneeze at, either. A leap of
faith in June involves your
heart the more trustworthy
you are in relationships, the
more you'll be able to trust
others. Weddings are glorious
July events. Lucky love signs
are Virgo and Pisces. Your
lucky numbers are: 2. 13. 29,
35 and 16.
ARIES (March 21-April
19) Your attention to detail
saves the day. Be the one who
makes conditions more ami
able for all, and don’t let chal
lengers get your defenses up.
It’s your leadership ability
and dynamic personality that
brings down rivals.
TAURUS (April 20-May
20) Sort out your reaction to
the changes of the past week.
Married couples find their
partners have already planned
out the whole day; it’s best to
follow along. A special
insight into your health is a
blessing.

Jeanne Phillips
—J,
you want a place in the sun. sometimes you
have to put up with a few blisters.”
Dating is a selection process, and hopefully
we learn from our errors. Although you parted
on bad terms, the relationship you had was a
learning experience. It taught you what you
DON’T want in a relationship, and that’s a valu
able lesson. Please don't give up now. You have
only just begun. You may have to “kiss a few
frogs.’ but it will all be worth it when you final
ly encounter Prince Channing.
DEAR ABBY: My husband and 1 have no chil
dren. Our friends' children are teenagers and are
good kids. We often include them when we
invite their parents to dinner at our home, or
when we meet for a bite after work. We enjoy
doing this on occasion, but our friends tend to
assume that their kids have a blanket invitation
to come along.
I would like to have an adults-only dinner
gathering at our home. Is it OK to say that when
I extend the invitation?
HOSTESS, ANYWHERE. USA
DEAR HOSTESS: Os course it’s all right. If
you choose to host a dinner party, you are with
in your rights to specify that you want the
evening to be an adults-only affair. And since
you make an effort to include the children at
other times, there should be no hard feelings.
Under the stars’gaze
GEMINI (May 21-June 21).
Don't be too eager to talk; lis
tening is more profitable. Fun
and romance are what you
need tonight. Relaxing is the
most important. Take a sun
bath. or do some gardening!
Children may be the source of
enjoyable surprises.
CANCER (June 22-July
22). You've got the brains in
your group, so use them.
Keeping the costs of a project
under control takes an extra
special effort. Many tasks on
your list go better in solitude.
Don't be too quick to buy a
sob story, but do help a friend.
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22).
You're learning how to man
age diverse personalities now.
No one is perfect, but every
one is doing the best possible
job under the circumstances.
Tonight, you'll feel you
deserve to do whatever you
want, and you do!
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22).
You put your values at the
front end of your business.
Keep asking yourself why
you started this venture to
make sure you’re in line with
your vision. The magical, life
changing words are: “I’ll
think about it and get back to
you."
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23).
Instead of fighting to
improve, work on accepting
yourself now, and the rest
happens naturally. You'll be
free of old patterns soon
enough. Don't require so
much of others that only
superheroes can fit the bill.
me if I’ve met anyone. I know she
wants me to be happy, but I’m
scared of being hurt again, so I lie
to everyone and tell them I’m fine.
But I can’t lie to myself. Can you
give me some words of advice to
boost my confidence?
BURNED IN TEXAS
DEAR BURNED: Only this:
Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
As my dear mother used to say, “If
SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov.
21). In the face of challenge,
you put the good of the group
first and score big. Cash easi
ly slips through your fingers,
but the experience you bought
is worth it. Behind-the-scenes
activity is lucky for your love
life.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-
Dec. 21). You aren’t always
comfortable in the spotlight
role, but take it anyhow.
You're the voice of authority
that causes others to fall in
line. Singles are as lucky as
they are bold. Romantic com
petition brings out your best.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan.
19) Trying to make every one
happy is an exercise in futili
ty. State your point clearly,
and then, let it go. Mediation
helps a stressful work situa
tion. New work is on the
horizon. What career ideas
are you open to considering?
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb.
18). Providing a valuable
service is the fastest way to
riches and love. You give of
yourself freely, and others
return your generosity. What
seems like an insignificant
problem at first will soon
demand attention.
PISCES (Feb. 19-March
20) Try not to leave a situa
tion just because the pace is
too slow or without variation.
Stability is a plus right now,
and you'll be glad you hung
in there. Volunteer and politi
cal work lead to future career
prospects.
