expect and what your options

and postpartum issues. Taught

allow for practice of the skills
that can help to make this

14. and Saturday. May 15,
from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
• CPR: Infant Be pre
pared: Learn CPR and chok
ing management techniques
for infants (birth to 1 year of
age). Certified instructors will
also discuss safety measures
that may help you to avoid the
need for CPR. Note: This
class is designed for those
who do not need to be CPR
certified. This class has a fee
and will be offered Sunday.

• Boot Camp for New
Dads New dads will find
answers to their questions and
concerns in this two-hour
workshop taught by other
fathers. Utilizing a man-to
man approach, veteran dads
and their newborns orient
rookie dads, preparing them
for holding and comforting a
real baby. The purpose is to
help dads get connected and
positively involved with their
new baby so that they can
remain a strong and construc
tive force throughout their
children’s lives. This class will
be Saturday. May 22. from 9
a m. to noon.
• Safe Sitter Program
Make sure that your babysitter
is a Safe Sitter. Safe Sitter is a
babysitting preparation course
specially designed for ages 11
and up. This full day course,
designed by a pediatrician, has

Pediatrics. The small group,
interactive learning environ
ment includes role-playing
games as well as hands on
manikin practice. The course
also covers many other valu
able topics in childcare and
setting up your own babysit

insulin and are living injec
tion-free. The fund-raising
event will be a swim meet
competition at Grand
Cascades Swim Center on
June 14 from 3-8 p.m.
Swimmers from 10 Forsyth
County swim teams will par
ticipate and they are currently
seeking sponsors to raise
money for this cause, individ
ual and business sponsorships
are welcome. The public is
invited to attend and join in
the raffle featuring great
prizes, the silent auction for
