Anonymous- 7 p.m. Sunday
nights. It’s not a question of

merely a symptom. Overeaters
Anonymous offers a program of
recovery, a fellowship of shar¬
ing and caring. No weighing in,

• “Understanding Insulin”
classes are free educational
classes that will be held at
North Georgia Diabetes and
Endocrinology, 1505 Northside
Blvd., Suite 2800. Classes will
be held from 1-2:30 p.m. June
13 and July 11. This is a class
for anyone taking insulin and
still having trouble controlling
their blood sugars. A free
“Calorie King” carbohydrate
guide will be handed out to
attendees. Registration is
required for any portion of each

CPR-A-Thon
... At 9 a.m. June 7, North
Fulton Regional Hospital will a
host a series of back-to-back,
two-hour CPR courses intended
for those who don’t need a certi¬
fication but who just want to
learn the basic CPR skills.
Participants will each receive
hands-on practice with their
own mannequin, which they can
then take home to use as a
teaching tool with other family
members and friends. The

Restore Motherhood
... Being a mother is a chal¬
lenging task that grows even
harder when health issues arise.
Mothers with chronic diseases
in our community might benefit
from free help with daily activi¬
ties such as help with getting
their children off to school,
making lunches, folding laundry
and other daily tasks.
These services are meant to
allow the lives of chronically ill
mothers to be restored. If you
are a mother that has been diag¬
nosed with a chronic illness or
know a mother in our communi¬
ty that has a chronic illness and
could use services, or if you
would like to volunteer to help
chronically ill mothers in our

Safe Sitter baby sitting
classes
... Emory Johns Creek
Hospital will hold babysitting
classes from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on
June 21, July 19 and Aug. 2.
Instructors from EJCH will train
young teens to care for younger
children. The classes are
designed for children ages 11-13
and teach them how to handle
emergencies when caring for
children. Topics covered
include: what to do when a child
chokes, safety for the sitter, how
to get emergency help, babysit¬
ting business skills, basic child
care skills, entertaining children
and keeping them safe. The cost
is $65, which includes a manual
and messenger bag with
babysitting essentials.
