The goal of the “Friends of
Seniors” program is to
decrease social isolation for

senior’s home. Volunteers are
matched with seniors using
similar interests, hobbies and
demographics. Some activities
that volunteers and seniors
may enjoy together include
playing cards, taking walks,

Safety Festival

“Have a Safe Summer”
Program will provide parents
and children with valuable
safety information in a fun,
interactive environment.
Participants will take part in
various exhibits and demon¬
strations such as bicycle safe¬
ty, water safety (swimming
and boating), stranger danger,
fire safety and internet safety.
The Forsyth County Sheriff’s
Department, Fire Department
and Ambulance Service will
provide the kids an opportuni¬
ty to see emergency response
vehicles. The kids will meet
and talk with firemen, police¬
men, and paramedics. The
Sheriff’s Department will also
fingerprint and photograph for
identification cards. Northside
Hospital Forsyth will partici¬
pate by sharing information on
sun safety, nutritional eating
habits and the importance of
exercise to combat childhood
obesity. The Georgia
Department of Natural
Resources, Coast Guard
Auxiliary and Sea Scouts will
demonstrate boating and water
safety, along with rules of the
lake. Keep Forsyth Beautiful
will present information on
insects and snakes in our area
and how to treat insect bites.

Vogel State Park hosts
free “Kids Fishing Rodeo

Vogel volunteers and staff will
