An Alliance Academy for Innovation stu
dent was killed and another student was
injured in a single-vehicle wreck near
Denmark High School on Tuesday morn
ing, Forsyth County Sheriff Ron Freeman
said.
“It’s a horrible tragedy,” Freeman said.
“We’ve lost a student.”
FCSO officials said the wreck involved a
single vehicle that rolled and struck a power
pole on Windy Hill Lane near Mullinax
Road at about 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 1.
“It’s a tragic, single-vehicle accident,”
“Freeman said. “Our Traffic Specialist Unit
is investigating the cause and effect of what
happened. It appears to be just a simple
overcorrection, but that’s early in the pre
liminary investigation.”
Freeman said the vehicle’s passenger was
killed in the crash and the driver received
minor injuries.
“[Deputies] were on the scene in under
two minutes,” he said. “They found the
vehicle to be occupied by two females who
turned out to be [high school] students.
Unfortunately, one was deceased at the
scene. They were able to extricate and res
cue the second.”
The students, whose names have not been
released, appear to be sisters, Freeman said.
“We’re working with our school system
partners to make sure Denmark High
School and their students are taken care of,”
Freeman said.
No charges are anticipated in the crash at
this time, Freeman said.

By Ashlyn Yule

As Forsyth County’s population
continues to grow, so does its com
mercial base.
Technology in particular has been a
developing industry in Forsyth County
with about 8,000 residents working in
the field, according to state legislature
passed in 2022.
On Thursday, Oct. 27, Forsyth
County, city of Alpharetta and state
officials joined together for a ribbon
cutting ceremony for a sign to be post
ed on Ga. 400 denoting a portion of
the highway as the ‘Technology
Corridor.’
Legislation passed in 2022 by state
senators such as Greg Dolezal and
Brandon Beach officially dubbed Ga.
400 from Mansell Road in Fulton
County to Hwy. 20 in Forsyth County
as the Technology Corridor.
“When I chose to settle in Georgia a
