A Brute in Blue
H. F. Hymes one of the police
force committed a brutal assault on a
young colored woman named Annie
Pouruelle on Tuesday night last. It
seems that the young woman and some
other parties were standing on the
corner ol Farm and Pine streets between
10 and 11 o’clock when the policeman
ordered them away at the same time
pushing and kicking the woman in the
abdomen from the effects of which it is
likely she will die. A charge has b< en
cuter d against Hymes for l rutaby mal
treating a woman, Hymes should be
arrested at once on the charge ofas-ault
with intent to murder, knd answer at
once for his unprovoked and cowardly
brutality.
