SAVED BY A LITTLE HEROINE,
St Stephens Church Sunday school
had a pic-nic at M mtgotnery on Tues
day of this week and everyth ng
went on pleasantly until late in the day
some children got into a boat wi h the
intention of having a little sail. In the
boat was Sadie Warfield and some
others. The boat was near the shore
and Sad e was standing in tne sieru
when a boy j >mp. d into the boat caus
ing it to cirten and precipiiate her
inio the water. Sadie had sunk twice,
when Josephine Price about fourteen
years of age heroically leaped into (he
water and disappearing for a moment
brought the drowning child, who is
about the same tge, to the surface,
when after s ine difficulty they were
safely landed, Sadie in an un
conscious state. The proper remedies
were applied and she Was soon restoreu.
A crowd of boys saw the accidmt hut
none had the courage of brave little
Josephine. Ail honor to the n< bie lit
tle heroine.
