The Athletic Commit teje is
not endowed with funds to
foster athletics at the school;
therefore, the members of the
committee must use this con¬
test each year as a means of
raising money whereby a weil-
rounded athletic program might
be given the pupils through
the continued ^-operation of
public spirited citizens.
The winners in the contest
and runners-up, backed by
their respective classes, will
receive the following awards

Both “Miss Beach” and "Miss
Cuyler” will receive a suit, a
bouquet of flowers, a royal cape
and crown, and will reign over
the homecoming game activi¬

mission to leave the college
and has accepted the invita¬

been launched at S. S. State A
and M. college to raise funds
to defray expenses of the
champion for this trip and for

Beach-Cuyler defeated Ris¬
ley High, 6-2 in Grayson Sta¬
dium last Thursday night. In
the second quarter, PattersoiJ
of Beach-Cuyler was tackled
behind his own goal line by
Brown of Risley, racking up a
safety for Risley. In the last
half of the game, Gene Mor.ris-
on scored on a long touchdown
sprint, and Beach-Cuyler took
a 6-point lead, holding it for
the rest of the game.
In spite of the soggy field,
both teams played a good brand
of ball which was witnessed by
a fairly large crowd.
Beach’s next game will be on
Thursday afternoon, Oct. 21,
when they will play Johnson
higs school of Augusta at Gray-
son stadium
