Beta Sorority, is scheduled to
speak at Butler Presbyterian
Church, Sunday, at 4 p. m. as a
part of the national observance
of Finer Womanhood Week by
the local Zetas. Dr. Partridge
appeared here in 1950 on a
similar occasion. Many Savan-
nahians know her as a visiting
teacher at New York University
and a lecturer at Columbia
University. A capacity audience
is expected to hear her Sunday.

days next week with W. S.
Scott, the father of Mrs. Mar¬
tin. An informal reception will
be given by Mr. Scott at his
home, 212 East Waldburg Street,
March 12th between 8 and 9
p.m., and the friends of Mr.
Scott and this couple are invi¬
ted to attend. No formal invi¬
tations will be issued.
Louis E. Martin will leave for
Nigeria, West Africa, when- he
will assist in setting up a news-
gathering service and news¬
papers for Nigeria which wih
receive its independence from
Great Britain ir I960. Mrs.
Martin expects to make a trip
there also during the next six
months.

Little Thinking Men
;■ The Little Thinking Men met
in the gymnasium of Beach
High School on February 14.
The group practiced basket ball
under the supervision of Frank
Simmons and Solomon Myers,
Jr. After a drill in the funda¬
mentals of shooting and dribb-
ling, a short business meeting
was held cn the entrance plaza
of the school. Various plans
were discussed for an interest-
ing summer program. T h e
members decided to meet infor¬
mally every fourth Saturday in
the interest of developing their
athletic program.
Wendell Cooper was host to
the club at this meeting and
served a tasty repast, empha¬
sizing the theme of ■ Valentine.
