WASHINGTON U SENIOR
NAMED TO HONOR
SOCIETY
ST. LOUIS— I ANP ) — Oily W.
Wilson, Jr., a senior -at Wash¬
ington University, was recently
elected to Omicron Delta Kap¬
pa, national senior mens honor
society, Lt was learned this
week.
Wilson was one of 14 under¬
graduates (five are seniors) to
achieve this honor for the year.
He thus becomes the first Negro
elected to this society at Wash¬
ington university.
Membership in the organiza¬
tion is achieved only by extraor¬
dinary leadership, scholarship
and service to the university.

Dr. Howard W. Thurman was
the principal speaker. Dr. Wil¬

Dr. Thurman chose as his
subject, “Seek Alter Truth.” He
told the graduates that the key
to all the things we find in life

Soror Dorothy B. Taylor
editor and publisher of the
Savannah Tribune who is a
diligent behind-the-scenes wor¬
ker, brought honor to the entire
area when she served recently
on the Federal Grand Jury. At
the time, Soror Johnson was
the only woman serving on the
jury. She is a charter member
of the chapter and has former¬
ly served as parliamentarian,
vice president and treasurer of
the chapiter.
