a short program including d

civic leader will deliver the ad¬
dress. Caesar H. Jenkins will
introduce the speaker and Ed¬
ward Williams, Jr., will respond.
Refreshments will be served.
At 7:30 p. m. the service will
be same as that of 11:30 a. m.
with the pastor delivering the
message.

The seventh annual Men’s
Day observance at Bethlehem
Baotist church was a success
Iasi Sunday with the men in
charge of all activities. At 10
a. m. the Church school was
conducted by David Nichols, su-
nerintendent. The speaker for
the 11 a. m. service was Caleb
H. Bias. His subject was
“The Ability to Make the Right
Decision.” The evening ser¬
vice featured L. S. Stell, III.

James AME church. Tn ad-
dit.ion to the Vacation Bible
school delegates were sent to
the District State Sunday
School conventions. Delegates
to the District, convention were
Miss Barbara Ann Hull, Miss
Ruth Boston, Miss Leola Law¬
rence, Miss Bettv Burke, and
Miss Estella Meggctt, while Miss
Hull, Miss Boston, Miss W. B
Darbv and Mrs. I. J. Darfiv at¬
tended the state convention.
Mrs. Darbv was principal of
the Bible School, and the teach¬
ers were Mrs. Jennie Durden,
Miss Meggett, Mrs. Aurelia Wil-
lianas and Mrs. Viola Carswell
who handled the art instrue-
tion. A highlight of the school
were the demonstrations spre-
sented bv each class during the
closing program. Among the
visitors who brought greetings
during this program were Mrs.
Johnetta Strohman. Mrs. Bpssie
Hannah, and the Rev. Geo. D
Walker. Many tof the women
of the church assisted in mak¬
ing the school a success.

The fashion show sponsored

others was a success.
Mrs. Fred Gadsden will have
a pew rally at the church Sun¬
day at 4:30 o’clock for the ben¬
efit of the rally.

lightful time at the Youth Re¬
treat which was held at Bruns¬
wick.

of the morning worship on next
Sunday. Music will be fur¬
nished bv the junior choir. The
Men’s chorus will be featured
in a hvmn festival on Sunday
during the evening worship.
